Arcade Overworld

Create connected Zelda-style room grids and seamless multi-screen adventure worlds with smooth transitions and auto-scrolling.

set overworld 8

Problem it solves

You are making a retro-style game using smaller 8x8 pixel tiles and want to arrange multiple tilemaps into an explorable grid.

What this block does

Sets the 2D grid of 8x8 tilemaps that make up your overworld. Use loadMap afterwards to start the game on a specific tilemap.

The block

Block ID: overworld_setOverworld8

set overworld $maps block

Parameters

NameTypeDefaultMeaning
mapstiles.TileMapData[][]—A 2D array of 8x8 tilemaps arranged in rows and columns.

Example

    [tilemap`level1`, tilemap`level2`]
]
